Mr. Shut Up and Train’s Free 30-Day Total Fit Challenge

day1

I ran across this fitness challenge while browsing the web over the weekend, and as soon as I read up on it, I knew I was in.  I’ve always been into fitness and last year I even lost 27 pounds.  But as my birthday and the holidays came around, and the start of a new business, my fitness took a backseat, and some of those pounds crept back up.  So, this is the perfect challenge to kick start my weight loss and to help me reach my health and fitness goals.

When you sign up, each day you’ll receive emails containing free workouts, motivation, support, nutritional advice..  You can’t ask for more than that!  Celebrity trainer, Ray Grayson a.k.a. Mr. Shut Up and Train’s ultimate goal, is to have 1 million people sign up for the challenge.  It starts today and it’s not too late to sign up, so spread the word and find yourself an accountability partner.

You can sign up at Free 30 Day Fitness Challenge!

Who’s joining me in this challenge?

Onion Juice for Hair Growth???

tumblr_mph6xz5usp1svrx2so1_1280

I’m always on the lookout for all natural remedies, so when I ran across this, I had to share. Onion juice is an all natural aide for hair growth and has been used for hundreds of years.  Who knew?  If you have thin edges, thinning hair, hair loss, or just want a boost in your hair growth, this is a much cheaper and natural alternative to over the counter hair growth aids.  Below is an excerpt from Health Extremist

Onion juice helps by providing nourishment and circulation to the hair follicles.  It also kills germs, parasites, and is helpful in treating some fungi infections, all of which can aid in prevention of hair loss.

Onions are also high in sulfur, which helps in regenerating the hair follicles, and they are beneficial in decreasing inflammation.

Below are 2 videos by the lovely xoDVF  showing off her long lovely tresses and further explaining the benefits of onion juice and a tutorial on making your own onion juice.

I think I’m sold!  I will be testing this out myself and reporting back.  Have you ever tried onion juice for hair growth?  If so, what were your results?

“Let’s Get Physical” The Best FAST & FREE Workouts on the Web!

I hear a lot of people complain that they don’t have enough time or money to workout or get a gym membership. Your health and fitness have to be a part of your lifestyle and we make time for what’s important to us. I’ve made a list of my favorite fast and free workouts that can be found right here on the net.

BodyRock
BodyRock workouts are amazing, because they are fast and effective. Most workouts are 12 minutes long, but they are some of the toughest 12 minutes ever. They use interval training based workouts, that tone you and get you in shape fast! I’ve gained so much upper body strength since BodyRocking and can do almost any variation of the push up now. The trainers are motivating and they have a full online community. Check out their facebook page for before and after pics of members and you’ll be a believer. I BodyRock at least a few times a week.

Pop Pilates
Pop Pilates is fun pilates workouts to current pop songs. Most of the workouts target specific muscle groups and range from 5 -20 minutes. Pop Pilates creator and host, Cassie Ho, has a bubbly and sweet personality and is great at motivating you and pushing you further in your workouts. I feel the burn after each workout and recommend it for anyone wanting to get leaner, stronger, more flexible, and get better posture. Plus, the workouts are fun.

Zuzana

Zuzana was one of the founders of bodyrock and the original host.  She’s branched out and now has her own workout channel and I’m hooked!  Her workouts are usually under 20 minutes and use your own bodyweight or workout equipment most of us have lying around the house.  What’s really motivating, is all of her workouts are done in real-time, so you can work out right along her.  I find this helps me keep a good pace.  I always feel like a sexy beast when I complete one of her workouts!

SparkPeople

SparkPeople is a free online community all about helping people reach their fitness goals.  Not only do they have some great weight loss tools, support, and recipes; they have a bunch of free workouts on the site as well.  The workouts range from cardio, interval training, and weight training, to stretching, yoga, and pilates.  SparkPeople also has a lot of great basic exercise tutorials to help you be sure you’re working out with correct form.

These are my fave fast and free workouts on the web.  Do you have any you would add to the list?
